Rhythm ‘N Bruise Snowboard Jam at White Pass May 1st

THE COURSE:
The course for this event is really the biggest draw. Imagine a motocross/BMX inspired, snow built rhythm section comprised of gap jumps, berms, doubles/triples/pump humps, hips and trenched trails. Braided lines will offer suitable routes with features for a variety of rider abilities from intermediate kids to full blown gnar stars. There will be over twenty features total, mostly jumps. Some of the gap jumps will have foam “decor” like fake spikes, fire, and branded logos/inflatables. The course itself will be quite a spectacle.

Thanks to George at snowrev I’ve attached a couple web links to give you a rough visual representation of what a rhythm section could look like. These guys did some good stuff. THANKS GEORGE

THE FEEL:
Perhaps the most important part of every snowboard event is the overall feel and energy, the camaraderie and the fun factor. While we will have tons of prizes that will inspire a competitive nature, Rhythm n Bruise will be a fun-first, low pressure, jam format, festival style hang out where riders have an opportunity to ride a super unique course and feel the level of riding progress without finding themselves going for broke. As with any snowboard event the level of riding will progress as the weekend wears on but the very nature of this course will ensure that riders of any ability level will be able to have fun with one another simultaneously.

RIDERS/CATEGORIES:
We will have a variety of entrant categories including kids, girls and pros. 8 entrant categories with a $50 entry for pros and a flat $30 entry for all other categories. We expect a massive turnout, drawing riders from all over the western US and beyond.

PRIZES:
In addition to the usual mega-swag prize packs associated with any good event, we are taking a unique approach to prizes and prize money. Many of the prizes for upper placing riders will consist of travel prizes and original art from noteworthy snowboard industry artists that are rooted in the NW. As for money, a specific purse won’t be defined until sponsor agreements have been turned in BUT what I can tell you is that we are not messing with any figure south of $10,000. I realize that to draw some upper level riders who are not relative locals that we are going to have to make this trip worth a plane ticket or a road trip.

THE VENUE:
White Pass is a little known but up and coming resort that is located in the South Cascades of Washington. If you’ve never been to this resort it’s well worth the trip. White Pass is an independently owned, family oriented hill with tons of super fun terrain and a positive group of ripping locals that any resort should envy. In addition, this 2010-11 season marks a pivotal year for the resort as we have doubled our rideable acreage, added 500′ of vertical, a new mid-mountain lodge and two new quad chairlifts. What better time to put together an event like this. As Rhythm n Bruise is a two day extravaganza, we are working with local lodging providers to make your visit as comfortable and affordable as possible. If travelling from afar, note that White Pass is located about 3 hours drive from Portland, OR and/or SeaTac, WA.
